About Helen
Grounded in science, shaped by story—psychology that honours both the mind and the heart

Mission
I’m a trauma-informed clinical psychologist with a passion for Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. With over 30 years of experience, I offer a compassionate, integrative approach to healing that honours each person’s inner complexity.
Clinical Psychologist by Practice, Lyricist by Heart
This is a space where insight meets emotion, and healing finds its voice— in therapy, in song, and in the spaces in between.
My Path and Practice
Informed by life. Grounded in healing
The Story Behind My Practice
My journey into psychology has been shaped by both lived experience and over 30 years of walking alongside others in their healing. From early work in high-performance sport to decades of clinical practice, I’ve remained grounded in a deep respect for the complexity of being human.
My therapeutic approach is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma-informed care, and a belief in the innate wisdom of each person’s inner world. I work with gentleness, curiosity, and a trust in the process of reconnection—supporting clients as they move toward greater clarity, compassion, and self-leadership.
The Foundations Beneath the Work
My therapeutic work is grounded in ongoing training and deep clinical curiosity. I’ve completed Level 1 and 2 training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) through the IFS Institute and OFSANZ, as well as Level 1 and 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. My approach is further supported by training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and advanced certification in The Richards Trauma Process (TRTP)—integrative methods that support healing at both the cognitive and emotional levels
The Work Of Gentle Listening
I believe that healing begins by listening to the parts of us who adapted to pain—and honouring them, not pathologising them. This understanding forms the heart of how I work—with deep respect for your internal world and the many parts of you that have tried to protect, cope, or simply survive. Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, identity questions, chronic illness, or the complexities of neurodivergence, I offer a space where those experiences can be explored with care.

Grounded In Integrity And Growth
With a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and active AHPRA registration, I’m committed to offering care that is both ethical and evidence-informed. I continue to engage in regular professional development to ensure my practice remains thoughtful, responsive, and aligned with the evolving needs of those I work with. This commitment reflects my belief that high-quality therapy is grounded not only in training, but in ongoing reflection and learning.
Supervision And Mentoring
Supporting Those Who Support Others
As a supervisor, I find genuine joy in supporting the growth of fellow psychologists—sharing knowledge, deepening clinical insight, and fostering reflective practice. I also have the privilege of mentoring psychology students through the University of Melbourne’s mentoring program, contributing to the development of the next generation of mental health professionals. These relationships are grounded in mutual respect, curiosity, and a shared commitment to thoughtful, ethical practice.
